Ng Kim Tuck is the Senior Advisor for Audit & Assurance at BDO in Malaysia. Prior to joining BDO in Malaysia, Kim Tuck was an Audit Partner at KPMG Malaysia.
Kim Tuck joined KPMG Kuala Lumpur in 1974. He passed the final exams of the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants in 1977, winning both the Ng Wing Keung Gold Medal for Financial Accounting as well as the overall gold medal for best results. From 1979 to 1981, he was seconded to Houston to specialize in oil and gas audits.
He was made an audit manager upon his return to Kuala Lumpur in 1981 and thereafter the manager in charge of one of the four audit departments in KPMG Kuala Lumpur. In 1985, he was admitted as a partner of the firm at the age of 31.
During his tenure as partner, he served as the partner-in-charge of the firm’s Audit Division as well as being the Risk Management Partner, partner-in-charge of Ethics and Independence, Finance and Admin Partner as well being the Chairman of KPMG’s Audit and Accounting Committee, which provides directives and consultative support on technical issues.
Kim Tuck is a Council Member of the MICPA as well as a former MIA Council member. He has also served on various committees of the MICPA and MIA as well as various working groups in the Malaysian Accounting Standards Board (MASB). He is a member of the MIA’s Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (AASB) and a member of MASB’s Interpretation Committee. He is also a member of Accounting & Auditing Technical Committee (AATC) and Investigation Committee of MICPA.
Kim Tuck has an extensive range of experience in coordinating and managing complex assurance assignments in the palm oil and plantation, automotive, manufacturing, trading, building and construction, property development, insurance and energy and natural resources sectors. He is also an experienced investigating accountant who has worked on innumerable due diligence exercises and has been the reporting accountant on numerous flotations/IPOs and Bond/Rights Issues.
