Dato’ Feizal is currently a Senior Advisor to BDO in Malaysia. He joined BDO in May 2012 as Executive Director of Advisory and became Chairman in July 2015.

Prior to joining BDO, Dato’ Feizal served with the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) for 19 years in various capacities in different areas. His last post at the SC was as Senior General Manager and Head, Market Development, where he was responsible for leading works related to enhancing standards of corporate governance, developing the private retirement industry, deepening the derivatives market, facilitating the introduction of new capital market products, expanding the venture capital industry, and aligning linkages and capital market opportunities between Malaysia and ASEAN as well as other countries.

Dato’ Feizal has extensive regulatory experience in corporate finance, having led works on policy design and drafting of rules and guidelines for listings and fund-raisings. He was instrumental in the review of the regulatory framework for equity and debt-fund raisings in Malaysia and of Bursa Malaysia’s board structure, which had led into the merger of the Main and Second Boards into the Main Market, and the transformation of the MESDAQ Market into a sponsor-driven ACE Market.

As Chairman, Dato’ Feizal oversaw the implementation of BDO in Malaysia’s strategic vision and development plans. His core focus area is on capital market transactions, advising clients wishing to undertake IPOs and list on stock exchanges, raising funds from capital markets, issuances of securities and engage in merger and acquisition activities. He also sat on the BDO Corporate Finance Asia Pacific Steering Committee.

In early 2019, Dato’ Feizal took up the position of Chairman of Export-Import Bank of Malaysia Berhad (EXIM Bank). Dato’ Feizal is currently the Chairman of the Regulatory and Conflicts Committee, Bursa Malaysia, and Chairman of the Listing Committee, Bursa Malaysia.He also sits on the Board of UPM Holdings Sdn Bhd, the commercial arm of Universiti Putra Malaysia.
