Dannie Wong

Dannie Wong is the Audit Partner in BDO Brunei. She has 20 years of experience in the accounting profession. Prior to joining BDO, she had valuable experience with Hii & Lee (currently known as Crowe Horwath), Foo, Kon & Tan and Sylvester Leong & Company. She has extensive expertise in statutory audits, fraud investigations, tax services, and preparation of accountant’s reports for legal firms.

Dannie provides audit services to both local and multinational clients across diverse industries, including oil and gas, food and beverages, shipping, hospitality and tourism, industrial products, consumer markets, building and construction, trading, retail, and services. In her role, she serves as the primary point of contact for clients, managing and maintaining strong relationships to ensure satisfaction while addressing concerns that may arise. She oversees audit engagements to ensure compliance with auditing standards and regulatory requirements, while also leading the audit team by providing guidance, support, and oversight to ensure the necessary resources and skills are in place for effective performance. She is responsible for quality control, reviewing and approving audit plans, working papers, and final reports to uphold auditing standards. Additionally, she identifies and mitigates potential risks throughout the audit process, ensuring adherence to professional and regulatory requirements. She presents audit findings to clients, explains issues, and recommends solutions, as well as prepares and delivers comprehensive audit reports. Beyond audit execution, she contributes to business development by identifying opportunities across industries to expand the firm’s client base, while also providing technical expertise and staying current with changes in accounting and auditing standards.
