Overview
As an Audit Manager, you will lead the engagement team on audit assignments for a diverse portfolio of clients across various industries. You will be responsible for planning audits, overseeing fieldwork, reviewing technical areas, and maintaining effective communication with clients throughout the engagement.
In this role, you will supervise and guide junior team members, providing on-the-job coaching and feedback to support their development. You will also contribute to improving engagement efficiency and strengthening client relationships through reliable delivery and proactive support.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and execute multiple audit engagements, including developing audit strategies, performing risk assessments and ensuring compliance aligned with professional standards and BDO’s methodology
- Review audit work and reports for technical accuracy and clarity, and communicate key findings to clients and management
- Monitor portfolio review and billing matters, ensuring timely invoicing and supporting effective engagement financial management
- Build and maintain strong client relationship to ensure high-quality delivery and engagement satisfaction
- Foster a positive learning environment by coaching and mentoring junior team members to support their personal and professional development
Education and professional skills / knowledge
Experience and Education:
- More than 6 years of working experience preferably in a professional services environment
- At least 1 year of experience in leading and managing teams
- A recognized degree in Accounting or equivalent with a Professional Accounting qualification and / or membership in Malaysian Institute of Accountants.
Other skills:
- Highly organised and detail-oriented, with strong time management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively to meet deadlines
- Possess strong people management, interpersonal, communication and networking skills
- Strong technical knowledge of audit methodology
- Strong written and oral communication skills with excellent command of English
