Overview

Our Tax Advisory team delivers expert advice and strategic guidance to businesses and organizations on a wide range of tax-related matters, ensuring compliance and optimizing tax positions. 

In this role, you will work closely with clients across various industries, providing advisory services on complex tax issues, including corporate tax planning, mergers and acquisitions, cross-border transactions, and other key business decisions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage tax advisory engagements, including tax planning, tax compliance, tax risk management, and dispute resolution matters
  • Provide practical and commercially focused tax advice on corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, and other complex business transactions
  • Advise clients on Malaysian and international tax matters, including transfer pricing, withholding tax, indirect tax, and cross-border tax considerations
  • Identify potential tax risks and develop strategies to mitigate exposure to audits or penalties
  • Assess opportunities for tax efficiencies, incentives, deductions, and other available tax benefits in line with prevailing tax laws and regulations
  • Collaborate with internal teams and other service lines to deliver integrated and value-added solutions to clients
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships to ensure satisfaction and long-term partnerships
  • Lead, supervise, and mentor team members to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables


Education and professional skills/ knowledge

Experience & Education:
  • A recognized degree in Accounting or equivalent and/or a professional accounting qualification
  • At least 5 years of working experience and in-depth knowledge of tax and other related legislation, ideally gained in a professional practice environment 


Other skills

  • Demonstrated ability to lead engagement teams, review deliverables, and manage client relationships effectively
  • Well-versed in Malaysian direct and indirect tax matters, including corporate tax, withholding tax, real property gains tax, sales and service tax, and other relevant tax areas
  • In-depth technical knowledge of Malaysian tax laws, regulations, rulings, guidelines, and compliance requirements
  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills, with the ability to engage confidently with clients and internal stakeholders
  • Possess a client service mindset, with the ability to provide practical tax advisory support and act as an effective business advisor and problem solver
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong command of English
