
Anissa has more than 20 years of extensive tax experience advising organisations across a wide range of industries.
She played a key role in major tax developments in Malaysia, including GST implementation, Common Repoeting Standard (CRS) implementation for Malaysian banks, and e-Invoicing implementation projects. In 2021, she led a collaborative project with the Inland Revenue Board on the formulation of the draft Tax Corporate Governance Framework.
Prior to joining BDO, Anissa spent nearly two decades with Ernst & Young (EY), most recently as Associate Partner, Tax. During her tenure, she managed a broad portfolio of tax compliance and advisory engagements, advising clients on tax planning, business restructuring, tax incentives, and tax governance matters, while working closely with regulatory authorities on tax audits, investigations, and appeals.
Her experience also included a six-month secondment with EY Bahrain, where she supported VAT implementation projects for financial institutions across Bahrain, Qatar, and Kuwait.
Anissa is a regular speaker at seminars organised by professional and industry bodies, and frequently delivers corporate tax, and e-Invoicing training programmes.
