Overview

As a Senior Executive in Cyber Security, with a focus on Data Privacy, you will be involved in data privacy advisory, compliance, risk assessment, and governance engagements. You will gain hands-on exposure to data protection laws, privacy frameworks, data mapping, privacy risk assessments, breach response, and Data Protection Officer support, while strengthening your foundation in privacy compliance, cyber governance, and regulatory advisory.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support data privacy advisory and compliance engagements involving data protection laws such as GDPR, PDPA, CCPA, and other relevant regulations
  • Assist in implementing data privacy governance frameworks, policies, procedures, and related compliance documentation
  • Participate in privacy gap assessments, Data Protection Impact Assessments, privacy risk assessments, and internal audits
  • Conduct documentation review, evidence gathering, control testing, and follow-up on remediation actions
  • Assist in data discovery, data classification, data mapping, and maintenance of Records of Processing Activities
  • Support data breach response activities, including investigation support, incident documentation, reporting, and remediation tracking
  • Develop and review privacy awareness materials, training content, and related communication initiatives
  • Monitor regulatory developments and assist in preparing insights on data privacy, data protection, and related compliance requirements
  • Support the establishment and enhancement of Data Protection Officer functions, including operating models, governance structures, roadmaps, KPIs, and privacy reporting
  • Engage with Legal, IT, Risk, Compliance, Security, and business teams to support interviews, workshops, meetings, presentations, and project deliverables

Education and professional skills / knowledge
Experience & Education
  • A recognised degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cyber Security or a related field with at least a Second Class Upper or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in data privacy, compliance, governance, risk, audit, or related areas
  • Prior working experience in professional services firm will be an added advantage
  • Certifications such as Certified Information Privacy Professional, Certified Information Privacy Manager, ISO 27701 Foundation, ISO 27001 Foundation, or equivalent will be an added advantage


Other skills
  • Good understanding of data protection, privacy compliance, cyber security governance, risk management, and regulatory requirements
  • Familiarity with data protection laws or regulations such as PDPA Malaysia, GDPR, CCPA, or other privacy regulations 
  • Exposure to privacy risk assessments, Data Protection Impact Assessments, data mapping, Records of Processing Activities, policy review, or compliance audits will be an added advantage
  • Possess strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal and communication skills
