Overview

Based in our Kuala Lumpur office, the Business Services & Outsourcing (“BSO”) team provides clients with the full range of accounting and back-office services, including bookkeeping, management accounting, financial reporting, SST compliance, payroll & compliance and any other ad hoc advice and assistance on accounting-related matters. 
 
As a Senior Executive in Business Services & Outsourcing, Accounting, you will be responsible for managing client accounting portfolios and delivering timely, accurate financial reporting and compliance support in accordance with applicable accounting standards and firm procedures.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare full sets of accounts, statutory financial statements, and related disclosures for a portfolio of clients in accordance with IFRS, MFRS, and other applicable accounting frameworks
  • Manage and strengthen client relationships by understanding clients’ business needs, addressing queries, and providing timely support
  • Prepare monthly financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and financial performance to provide insights that support business decision-making
  • Prepare and/or review XBRL tagging of financial statements in compliance with SSM’s MBRS 2.0 requirements.
  • Oversee portfolio deliverables and engagement timelines, ensuring efficient execution, timely completion and alignment with client expectations
  • Escalate issues to managers or clients in a timely and professional manner
  • Coach and supervise junior members of the team
  • Ensure all client engagements are delivered in accordance with the firm’s risk management, quality control, and internal compliance requirements


Education and professional skills / knowledge
Experience & Education:

  • A recognised degree in Accounting or equivalent, with at least a Second-Class Upper classification or/and a qualified ICAEW/ACCA/CPA/MICPA or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant working experience


Other skills: 

  • Good command of both verbal and written English
  • A strong team player with good interpersonal, communication and writing skills
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills, meticulous and able to work under pressure with accuracy and focus under tight deadlines
  • Possess a client service mind-set and a strong appreciation of business acumen
  • Working knowledge of Malaysia Financial Reporting Standards and IFRS
  • Experience supervising and coaching junior members of the team
