Overview
Our transaction services team recognises the complexities of business deals and assists clients in the evaluation of business opportunities and the completion of successful transactions.
Whether a transaction requires pre-acquisition or post-acquisition assistance, our team of experienced professionals are able to combine their commercial and financial experience as well as depth of industry knowledge to meet our clients’ needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as engagement manager for financial due diligence / financial modelling / financial model review engagements, which might involve cross border transactions and working / collaborating with other BDO offices internationally.
- To assist in commercial due diligence and post deal integration engagements with experienced Director / Executive Director
- To guide and coach junior team members to construct financial models for financial modelling engagements / review financial models or projections
- To lead desktop research and background analysis of companies from a wide range of industries, including prospective clients
- To review deliverables of team members and consolidate team members’ deliverables to draft engagement level deliverables (i.e. due diligence reports etc.) for engagement director review
- Primarily responsible and lead client / engagement acceptances process and prepare relevant documentation to meet and comply with BDO’s client / engagement acceptances policies.
Education and professional skills/ knowledge
Experience and Education:
- A recognised degree in Finance, Accounting and/or Professional Accountancy Qualification
- Candidates with professional project management certification such as Project Management Professional (PMP) will be highly regarded for post deal integration role
- At least 6-8 years of relevant experience, preferably gained in an audit or a transaction advisory environment. Financial modelling /commercial due diligence / industry research experience / post deal integration experience is highly regarded
- Sound project management skills. Those with relevant project management qualifications will be considered on preferential basis for post deal integration team.
- General understanding and working knowledge of International/Malaysian Financial Reporting standard
Other skills:
- Good grasp of numerals, report writing and presentation skills, advanced knowledge and mastery of Microsoft Excel have added advantage
- Strong team player with initiative and excellent communication as well as interpersonal skills
- Strong interest / passion in corporate advisory work
- Good command of both written and spoken English. Multilingual candidates with professional proficiency of other commercial languages such as Mandarin will have added advantage
