Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Manager to support and manage portfolio of tax compliance, tax audit, advisory, indirect tax, customs, and transfer pricing-related engagements.


Key Responsibilities
  • Review tax computations prepared by team members to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations
  • Oversee and review non-tax compliance and advisory projects, including but not limited to indirect tax, tax and customs audits, tax advisory, transfer pricing documentation, and related assignments
  • Assist in managing and preparing responses to tax audits, tax investigations and field audits, and enquiries from tax authorities for existing tax compliance clients
  • Monitor project progress, manage deadlines and coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely delivery of client work
  • Provide technical support and practical tax solutions to clients on complex tax issues, regulatory requirements, and compliance matters
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, tax authorities, and relevant stakeholders to ensure client satisfaction and long-term partnerships
  • Keep updated on changes in tax legislation, regulatory developments, and industry practices to ensure effective service delivery
  • Lead, guide, and mentor team members to ensure assignments are completed accurately, efficiently and within agreed timelines


Education and professional skills/ knowledge
Experience & Education:
  • A recognized degree in Accounting or equivalent with at least a second class upper classification and/or a professional accounting qualification
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in the tax, preferably in a professional services firm, with experience in a leadership role


Other skills:
  • Strong knowledge of relevant tax laws, regulations, guidelines, and industry practices
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret tax legislation and provide practical solutions to clients
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Adaptable and able to respond quickly to changes in tax legislation, regulatory requirements, and client circumstances
