Overview
As an Assistant Manager, you will support the delivery of quality tax services to corporate and individual clients. This role involves managing client engagements, supporting tax advisory and compliance matters, working closely with senior leaders, and building strong client relationships within a professional services environment.


Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and review tax compliance assignments for corporate and individual clients, ensuring deliverables are completed accurately and within agreed timelines
  • Lead and guide client service teams in the preparation and review of tax computations, tax returns, and related submissions
  • Work closely with Tax Managers/Associate Directors and Executive Directors to deliver quality tax services and support client advisory matters
  • Manage, develop, and maintain strong client relationships by understanding client needs, addressing queries, and providing timely support
  • Identify opportunities to support clients with relevant tax and business solutions, while contributing to business development initiatives
  • Keep updated on tax legislation, regulatory changes, and industry developments to provide relevant insights to clients and internal teams
  • Ensure compliance with internal risk management, quality control, and firm policies in all client engagements

Education and professional skills/ knowledge
Experience & Education:
  • A recognised degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, and/or a relevant professional accounting qualification
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience, preferably gained in a professional practice or professional services environment
  • Good knowledge of Malaysian tax legislation, tax compliance requirements, and related regulations
  • Experience in leading, coaching, or supervising team members will be an added advantage

Other skills
  • Possess strong people management, interpersonal, communication, and networking skills
  • Client service mindset, with the ability to act as an effective business advisor and problem solver
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an excellent command of English
  • Ability to read and write Mandarin will be an added advantage
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
