Welcome to our refreshed website. This new look is a visual expression of our brand ambition towards reinforcing BDO’s reputation as a leading global network. From 1 January 2010, we will simply be known as BDO in every country in the network. The approach is consistent and in alignment with the other major professional services networks, who all enforce a single name, brand and identity. BDO member firms in 115 countries world wide began adopting the single global trading name of ‘BDO’ from 1 October 2009 working towards the finish line of 1 January 2010. For us in Malaysia, this marks an exciting time and period of transition for our firm and the BDO accountancy network, as it gives us the recognition as a leading international brand. Operating under one consistent brand name helps us reinforce the strength of our seamless integrated network and demonstrate our commitment to service our clients at the highest quality levels wherever they operate. In my role as Senior Partner for BDO Asia Pacific (Region A) which includes China and South East Asia, and as Managing Partner of BDO in Malaysia, I am constantly looking to achieve greater collaboration between our member firms, especially within the Asia Pacific region. This further strengthening of relationships gives us the ability to offer a full-range of core services in Audit, Advisory and Tax, network-wide. I am proud that our regional initiatives are on track, growing healthily and steadily. Our stride into Cambodia and Vietnam is an exemplification of the strength of our unified network in providing consistent high quality advice and service to all our clients whoever they are and wherever they choose to be. This is our shared BDO corporate philosophy. The single global trading name not only demonstrates our international capabilities; it emphasizes our core standards of practice which are: a distinct reputation for our proximity to clients, providing the best professional advice and expertise, and being an employer of choice. All of this reflects our commitment to demonstrate the overarching pillars of our network that what matters to you, matters to us. 2010 will be an interesting year for us all. The general consensus appears to steer towards a brighter outlook for most economies. The emerging markets of China and India continue to appear formidable and promising. South East Asia appear to be jumping on the bandwagon and we strongly believe that BDO’s investments, whether in infrastructure and our hires, both experienced and fresh graduates will ensure we are ready and prepared to come alongside our clients and stakeholders to cement our relationships as we meet their needs where it is most needed. Whether it is for growth and expansion opportunities or whether it is to align and take full advantage of resources, tax efficiencies or improvements in processes, the very essence of our relationship with our clients and stakeholder has and always will be - what matters to you, matters to us. Our “Latest News” section on the homepage will be featuring more thought leadership articles and publications which is a direct result of feedback that we are have received from our clients.
