Prior to joining BDO Malaysia in August 2007, Gan Hock Soon was previously attached with the People’s Republic of China, Malaysia and USA practice of KPMG, one of the Big 5 accounting firms. He was also the head of one of the audit departments of KPMG in Malaysia. He is currently managing a portfolio of listed and non-listed statutory audit clients in Malaysia. He is also involved in special assignments, which comprise preparation of accountants report, and review of prospective financial information for submission to the relevant authorities for IPOs and restructuring exercise. He also had prior working experience in the People’s Republic of China, USA, and he has in depth experience for audit of financial statements in accordance with IFRS, US GAAP and People‘s Republic of China GAAP. While in the USA, he also supervised an audit of closing statements for a global merger and acquisition assignment which involved various continents in the world. He brings with him experience with clients in the industries of construction and property development, industrial and consumer products, pharmaceutical, hotel and hospitality, plantation, information communications and entertainment, trading and investment holding companies. |
