David Lai Executive Director, Tax |  | | David is an Executive Director at BDO Binder Tax Services Sdn Bhd and is the Head of BDO’s Tax Advisory function. He has over 17 years of work experience in professional practice (audit, tax), investment banking and in a commercial group. He is a Fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (“ICAEW”). He is also a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (“MIA”) and the Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia (“CTIM”). David was formerly a Tax Director in the Tax Advisory function of one of the Big 5 accounting firms. His expertise is in corporate tax advisory work for local and multi-national companies in the financial, trading, manufacturing sectors. David has extensive tax experience in cross border transactions, corporate restructuring, local and foreign listings, international mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, group financing, debt restructuring and offshore investment structures. Prior to joining BDO, David was General Manager and CFO in a multi-national conglomerate. His corporate experience at senior management level has enabled him to further add value to clients by looking at solutions from the client’s perspective and translating technical professional advice into
