BDO, the world’s fifth largest accountancy network, announced that all its member firms in 115 countries world wide are adopting the single global trading name of ‘BDO’. From 1 January 2010, BDO Binder will be known simply as BDO. Jeremy Newman, CEO of BDO said: “This is a very exciting change for BDO and is the culmination of many years of strategic and operational investment and engagement. It demonstrates our member firms’ commitment to provide a seamless, integrated service delivering the highest quality advice to all our clients across the world. It confirms our position as a competitor to not only the largest, but all other businesses operating in our marketplace”. Dato’ Gan Ah Tee, Managing Partner of BDO in Malaysia said “This marks an exciting time for BDO in Malaysia as it confirms our position as a leading international brand with global aptitude. The single global trading name reinforces our reputation and capacity to not only be known in the market for traditional service offerings such as Audit and Tax but also further demonstrate our capability to offer a full range of specialist Advisory services, network wide”. The change also sees BDO entering into arrangements to enable all BDO Member Firms to utilise common IT software which should facilitate the deployment of new network-wide tools and applications. This will benefit clients as it will enable easier document and knowledge sharing. BDO will be introducing a new audit methodology and a new audit process tool to facilitate the consistent delivery of high quality, effective and efficient audits, fully compliant with the International Standards on Auditing (ISAs). BDO has strengthened its brand, visual identity, messaging and positioning. Approximately 20% of BDO Member Firms made the change on 1 October 2009; the remainder will complete the transition to the single global trading name by 1 January 2010. Jeremy Newman comments: “What matters to our clients matters to us. Our clients expect the best possible professional advice and the highest quality service and the transition to a single global trading name underlines our commitment to deliver this to our clients nationally and internationally.” |
